Review by Trapped Tourist Mare in S. Yarmouth for Olympia Fish House Restaurant

Do you want to get grossed out and consume few calories? Try this disgusting place!!! Seriously, the worst dining experience of my entire life and no, I am not just being mean! We arrived around 8:20pm and were greeted at the door by a man saying they were out of Lobster..well, OK, we were hungry and had just arrived on the Cape for a wedding the next day. My cousin ordered the Steamers and she was corrected and told they were steamed clams, huh? Well, they were not cleaned at all, were completely full of sand and had that disgusting furry piece thing still attached, ever seen that before? No? Me either and we shouldn't, not unless you're the person who is the clam digger or responsible for cleaning them...properly. She chipped a tooth on the sand, they didn't care, just kept saying to hurry because they were closing and it was after 9. They refused to remove the uneaten clams from the bill...she only ate 1 clam and couldn't continue on with her chipped tooth and mouth full of sand..talk about an appetite killer!!!! My fish from the fish and chips were grossly overcooked, my other cousin had a baked fish entree, so over baked, the scallops couldn't be cut with a knife and so dried out, the scallop couldn't even be bitten in to and the fish was like rubber!!! They wouldn't take that off the bill either and then my 80 year old Mom who doesn't care for seafood ordered off the children's menu, grilled cheese..she loved it! The only good thing at a Seafood place was the grilled chilled cheese from the kids menu!!! And, they probably lied about being out of lobster! They just wanted us out the door and then the waiter (the guy who had to be asked 3 times for water, and refused to remove the inedible items from our check and still didn't bring the water) actually had the nerve to complain about the $5 tip we left...it was based on the edible portion of our meal, my fish was very overcooked but I could eat it and it was haddock, not even cod on Cape Cod!! PLEASE...do yourself a favor and go across the street, our evening meal was ruined by one unfortunate luck of the draw, we turned left into their parking lot vs. turning right into their competitor's lot across the street....lesson learned...and a dental procedure to follow!!!! How horrible that they are allowed to remain open on Cape Cod! Absolutely disgusting clams and rude attitudes by all employees there on the evening of Thursday, July 30, 2009. Imagine, I have had a few days to calm down over this horrible dining experience too!!!
